Kirsten Jimerson, a Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist, joined Jonah Green and Associates in 2010. Kirsten has a strong background in providing therapy to children and adolescents, families, couples, and individual adults. Kirsten has served couples and families at the Center for Healthy Families of the University of Maryland, Bowie Youth and Family Services, Greenbelt CARES, and National Family Resiliency Center, Inc. She currently provides school-based therapy for children and families through YMCA Youth and Family Services in Montgomery County, MD.

Kirsten enjoys assisting children, families, and individuals in finding paths to greater happiness and satisfaction.
She is an attentive, compassionate listener who has a special gift for helping clients address their personal and relationship challenges. Kirsten works in a respectful, collaborative manner that inspires confidence and sets the groundwork for positive change.
Kirsten is experienced in using classic therapy models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Structural Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Experiential Therapy.
Areas of Interest
Kirsten is experienced in helping individuals and families to resolve a wide variety of challenges. She has particular expertise in the areas of strengthening relationships, grief/loss, couples issues (intimacy, communication, and infidelity), parenting, family transitions (separation, divorce, step families), substance abuse concerns, anxiety, depression, and anger management.

Kirsten holds a Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Mary Washington.
