Leslie Gunderson is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist who joined Jonah Green and Associates in 2017. She has experience working with children, adolescents, couples, and families in residential, clinic, school-based, and private practice settings. Leslie has expertise in assisting children and adolescents with a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and reactions to grief, loss, and trauma. Working closely with parents, she supports parents in setting effective limits and in working together with their children to regulate their emotions and impulses. She is skilled at working with families going through separation/divorce, remarriage, grief, and relationship conflict. Leslie also has clinical experience working with couples around a range of issues, including support for co-parenting.
Approach to Therapy
Leslie’s approach to therapy is based on creating a safe and collaborative environment for clients of all ages to express themselves and have new healing experiences. She uses a blend of cognitive-behavioral, expressive, and solution-focused therapies to meet the needs of each client in overcoming obstacles and creating peace. Leslie has specialized training and experience with the family systems approach, and collaborates with parents in their children’s treatment. Leslie is trained to use play therapy with children and families to foster expression, resilience, and connection.
Leslie received a Masters in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland and a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Brigham Young University.
