Treatment Approach

Jennifer has been training in Relational Life Therapy (RLT) for over ten years and is certified in this modality. RLT focuses on the primary relationship with oneself and the impact that has on interactions and relationships with others. RLT considers childhood wounds, traumas, the family of origin, healthy and not-so-healthy communication skills, coping skills, and the ability to be relational and manage emotions. Bringing her authentic, genuine self into the therapeutic relationship and setting creates space for healing, growth, and change to establish healthy, satisfying, and more fulfilling relationships.

Jennifer also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-focused – CBT, person-centered, supportive therapy, mindfulness, brief strategic family therapy, and grief therapy to tailor treatment and interventions to the client’s wants, needs, and goals. She is also a certified facilitator of Prepare/Enrich.

Education

Jennifer received her master’s degree in social work in 1996 from the University of Pittsburgh. She received her bachelor of arts and social work with a minor in Psychology in 1995 from the University of Pittsburgh.
