Kathy Voglmayr, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, joined Jonah Green and Associates in 2012. Kathy has a direct, down- to- earth style, and a keen ability to integrate a variety of treatment methods that build upon her client’s strengths. Ms. Voglmayr has worked with children, adolescents, couples and families in a variety of settings, including therapeutic foster care, adoption agencies, multicultural youth centers, and mental health clinics, since 2000. She views therapy as a collaborative relationship between herself and all members of the families she works with. When working with parents and children, she places emphasis on helping parents discover their own expertise and develop an empathic understanding of their children’s behavior.
Kathy’s passion for working with children, adolescents and their families is informed by her own journey as a parent as well as her many years of clinical experience and post-graduate study. Kathy’s areas of interest and expertise include couples therapy, anxiety and depression, developmental delay and disability, ADHD/behavioral concerns, eating disorders, social skills training, parent support and education, family transitions, family communication, trauma, and grief. She integrates Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Play Therapy to help families meet their goals.
Kathy received a Masters in Social Work from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration (with a specialization in Family Support) and a Bachelor of Arts from Haverford College. She holds a post-graduate certificate in the treatment of children and adolescents with anxiety.
Kathy provides services in English and in Spanish.
