Rene is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who joined Jonah Green and Associates, LLC in 2019, where she provides individual and family therapy for children and youth of all ages and their families. Rene has considerable experience providing counseling and crisis intervention for children and teens who have experienced trauma, have emotional regulation and behavioral concerns, school difficulties, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and aggressive or self-injurious behaviors. Rene previously provided counseling for expectant parents and birth parents at a non-profit agency, where she also served as a Confidential Intermediary, providing search and reunification services, counseling, and mediation for birth parents and adoptees. Rene presently works at the Reginald. S. Lourie Center for Infants and Young Children, where she has served as a therapist since 2017.
Treatment Approach
Rene uses a blend of treatment approaches that takes into consideration each client’s individual needs in order to find the best fit for the individual or family. She uses a combination of evidenced-based approaches including play therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, attachment-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and trauma-informed approaches. Rene is a Registered Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator, working with parents and children to facilitate emotional connection, communication, decrease problematic behaviors, and increase positive interactions.
Education
Rene received a Bachelor of Social Work from The University of Texas in Austin, obtained a Master of Social Work from Temple University in 2013, specializing in clinical work with children, youth and families.
