Ricardo “Ric” Andrews, LGPC

Ric is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) who joined Jonah Green and Associate in the summer of 2020. His clients include teens and adults that may face a variety of challenges including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, and family and/or interpersonal conflict.

Treatment Approach

Ric approaches therapy as a collaborative dynamic between the therapist and client(s) aimed to accomplish personal goals through building trust, respecting individual needs, and supporting growth and development. Through his work, he helps create a safe and non-judgmental space to explore and discover these new life paths.

He utilizes an integrated style to address the individual needs of clients including Adlerian therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and person centered therapy. Ric seeks to create a warm environment while seeking a genuine understanding of each clients’ needs, perspectives and goals. In doing so, he supports each client improve his or her own life by helping them recognize their unnoticed strengths while providing them with additional tools necessary to make lasting change.

Work Experience

Ric has worked close to a decade in the mental health field providing person-centered services to clients that include adolescents with behavioral issues, adults with anxiety and depression and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

He also works as a Program Director at a nonprofit called SEEC; an organization that seeks to enhance communities through honoring, respecting and assisting people with developmental disabilities as they direct their lives towards work, relationships, recreation, and personal development. For many years, Ric has worked in the areas of program development, conflict resolution, and vocational counseling.

Education

Ric earned his Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and obtained a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Bowie State University.
