Approach to Therapy
Shana’s approach to therapy involves creating a safe and supportive environment for all of her clients. She sees her work as a collaborative effort between client and therapist and she strives to empower her clients in ways to help them navigate and take control of life’s difficulties. Shana sees herself as a guide and an interpreter, helping family members better understand one another in order to increase family cohesion. Shana approaches her clients’ concerns from a strengths-based perspective and helps them consider their challenges within the context of their relationships.
Trained in play therapy by Dr. Eliana Gil, Shana enjoys working with children ranging from school-aged to teenagers. She also works with couples on intimacy, conflict resolution, communication, and co-parenting.
Shana received a Masters in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University.
