Shannon is an advanced standing MSW intern whose program training has focused primarily on therapy with teens and young adults. Before her graduate work, Shannon worked as a volunteer with adolescents and adults in a variety of counseling settings. She joined Jonah Green and Associates in the Fall 2022, where she will continue to work with individual clients and expand her practice to families and couples.

Treatment Approach

Believing that clients are their own “experts,” Shannon empowers her clients with a collaborative strengths-based approach that integrates various methods and interventions to meet clients’ unique needs best. Her work creates a space where clients can fully explore their authentic selves without judgment and harness their inner strengths to achieve their therapy and life goals. Shannon believes strongly in the value of group therapy to improve self-awareness and relational skills and has facilitated several teen and young-adult groups during her MSW training and previous volunteer work.

Education

Shannon earned her undergraduate degree in business at Miami University and spent many years working on fundraising campaigns for various non-profit groups and causes. She is completing her master’s degree in clinical social work and behavioral health at the University of Maryland School of Social Work as an advanced standing student.
